                                                                    This I Believe
Art, for me, is more than just a hobby or an interest; it's a deeply ingrained belief that guides every aspect of my life. This conviction didn't appear suddenly; it grew over time, nurtured by my childhood adventures in museum trips to places like the DIA, The Henry Ford, and the blank space of 8” by 11” printer paper.
Those museum visits were magical. I was always excited about wandering through the silent, story-filled halls of museums. Each painting, sculpture, and artifact wasn't just an object to me; they were portals to different times and places. They turned history from a subject I learned in school into a tapestry of human experiences that I could see, feel, and almost touch.
I vividly remember the first time I stood before a vast painting depicting a historic battle. I don’t remember what it was called or even what it looked like, I just remember the feeling I had looking at it. It was then that I realized how art could bring the past to life in a way that words on a page could not. Through art, history was no longer a collection of facts and figures but a narrative woven with the emotions and struggles of real people.
Through painting, drawing, and later photography and digital media, I found a medium for expression. This deep connection with art has profoundly influenced my daily life philosophy. I believe that art is not just a creative outlet but a powerful tool for understanding – understanding ourselves, our history, and the intricacies of our shared human experience. Art teaches empathy, encourages critical thinking, and opens our minds to new perspectives and ideas. It has the power to heal, to inspire, to challenge, and to bring about change in subtle yet significant ways.
In my life, art has been a constant source of comfort, inspiration, and strength. It has shaped how I view the world and my interactions with it. My belief in the power of art extends beyond mere appreciation of beauty; it encompasses a recognition of the vital role of creativity and expression in comprehending and appreciating the human condition.

In a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming, my belief in the transformative power of art remains unshaken. I believe that through art, we can connect on a deeper level, overcome challenges, and make our world a little brighter and more understanding. This I firmly believe.
